Remembrance Sunday road closure

The three roads around the village War Memorial will be closed to all traffic on Remembrance Sunday, November 13, between 10am and 1pm.

No vehicles will be able to get through on Snow Hill, Ampthill Road, or Flitwick Road to allow the Remembrance Sunday ceremony to take place in safety with enough room around the whole War Memorial for everyone to take part.

In previous years only the Flitwick Road arm between the Village Green and the War Memorial has been closed making it difficult for people to see, hear, and participate in the annual act of remembrance, particularly with the noise of passing traffic factored in.

To make the event safer and easier for everyone, Maulden Parish Council have applied for, and been granted, a temporary road closure order for the three roads which meet at the War Memorial, with the roads being coned off between 10am and 1pm on the day.

Access to all parts of the village will still be possible along New Road, Silsoe Road, The Brache/Limbersey Lane during the three-hour closure.

Road signs will be in place shortly, and Maulden Parish Council would like to thank everyone for their understanding.
