Notice to convene the meeting dated: February 7, 2026

Under the Local Government Act 1972, Part III of Schedule 12, a parish meeting must be held once a year between March 1 and June 1 (inclusive) and should not commence before 6pm. The annual parish meeting is usually summoned by the chairperson of the parish council.

The chairperson of the parish council, if present, must preside. If the chairperson is absent, the vice-chairperson, if present, presides. In the absence of both the chairperson and vice-chairperson of the parish council, the parish meeting elects a chairperson for that meeting.

The annual parish meeting is a meeting of all the local government electors for the parish. It is NOT a meeting of the parish council which the public can participate in. Members of the public who are not local government electors for the parish may attend but have no right to speak or vote on any matter.
